Call Forwarding lets you transfer your incoming calls to any telephone that you can dial directly. 1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone 2. Dial *72 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1172). 3. Again, listen for the dial tome. 4. Now, dial the number where you wish your calls forwarded. 5. When someone answers at the forwarded number, Your Call Forwarding feature is now in effect. (If there is no answer, or if the line is busy, hang up and repeat the previous steps. If you do this within two minutes, you will hear two beeps meaning your Call Forwarding feature is now working. Once you have activated Call Forwarding, the phone will make one short ring each time a call is forwarded. You can still make out- going calls from this phone.) (If you forward your call to any number outside your local calling area, you will be charged long distance charges for any calls forwarded from you number to the distant number.) To Deactivate Call Forwarding 1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone 2. Dial *73 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1173). 3. Listen for two beeps. Call Forwarding is now deactivated and calls will ring on your phone. Speed Calling lets you call frequently called numbers by dialing only one or two digits. Available in either 8 or 30 number capacities. Numbers can be either local of long distance. In order to program you speed call numbers: 1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone. 2. For Speed Call 8, dial *74 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1174) For Speed Call 30, dial *75 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1175) 3. Listen for the dial tone 4. Dial one of the 8 one-digit speed numbers (2 through 9) Select a two-digit number (numbers 20 through 49) for Speed Call 30. 5. Enter the number you wish to speed call 6. Listen for two beeps which indicate that your number has been successfully entered. Hang up and repeat the process for additional numbers. In order to call someone from your speed call list: 1. Lift the handset and press the Speed Call digits that correspond to the number you want to reach. Your call will be dialed automatically. Three-Way Calling lets you add a third party to your existing conversation. This feature can be used whether you received or placed the first call. 1. Depress the switchhook* for about one second. This will place the first call on hold. 2. Listen for dial tone. Then dial the third person 3. When the third person answers, you may talk privately with this person before you make the call three-way. 4. To make the call three-way, depress the switchhook* for about one second to add the person on hold. Your three-way call is now underway. 5. If for some reason, the call to the third person is not completed or you decide not to add the third person, depress the switchhook* twice to resume you conversation with the person on hold. To disconnect the third person 1. Press the switchhook for about one second. You will now have only the original party on the line OR if either of the other two people hangs up, you can continue to talk to the one remaining. To disconnect completely, Simply hang up. *The switchhook is that round, flat, square or whatever-sized button that the handset pushes down when you hang up the phone. Your phone may also have a link or flash key. Call Waiting lets you know someone else is calling when you are on the phone. 1. A beep tone tells you another call is waiting. Only you hear this tone. 2. Another reminder will be heard 10 seconds later if the waiting call remains unanswered. 3. To answer the second call, depress the switchhook* for about one second to lace your first call on hold. 4. You will be automatically be connected with the second caller 5. Pressing and releasing the switchhook* for about one second will let you alternate between parties. Each conversation is absolutely private. 6. To end either call, simply hang up, your telephone will ring, when you answer it, you will be connected to the remaining party. *The switchhook is that round, flat, square or whatever-sized button that the handset pushes down when you hang up the phone. Your phone may also have a link or flash key. Cancel Call Waiting turns off Call Waiting on a per-call basis. This eliminates Call waiting tone from interrupting regular conversations, internet, computer modem or facsimile transmissions. 1. Before the call, press *70 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1170) Enter the phone number you wish to call. Call Waiting Deluxe allows the customer, while off-hook on an existing call, to receive information about the calling party on a waiting call. The customer will also receive additional call management abilities such as adding the incoming call to the existing conversation in a three-way call, or sending a prerecorded announcement asking the caller to wait, or send an announcement that you will call them back or sending the call to voice mail (must subscribe to voice mail). When the customer subscribes to both call waiting and Calling Number Delivery or Calling Name and Number Delivery, they receive Call Waiting Deluxe at no extra charge. A special Call Waiting Deluxe phone is required to take advantage of the additional call management capabilities. Calling Number Delivery displays the number of the person calling you on a special identification phone or display device. Calling Name and Number displays the name and number of the person calling you on a special identification phone or display device. Calling Number Delivery Block Per Call allows the calling party to suppress their number on a per call basis such that the called party with Calling Number Delivery does not receive their number. 1. Lift the handset 2. Dial *67 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1167) Calling Number Delivery Block Per Line allows the calling party to automatically suppress their number on all calls without dialing a code such that the called party with Calling Number Delivery does not receive their number. To cancel block and allow delivery for a single call: 1. Lift the handset 2. Dial * 82 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1182) Automatic Recall redials the last person who called you whether you answered or not. 1. Lift the handset 2. Dial *69 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1169) You will hear a recording giving the number, date and time of the last person to call and be instructed to dial 1 if you want to complete the call. Automatic Call Back redials the last busy number you called. If the number is still busy, it will continue to redial periodically, alerting you with a special ring when the call can go through. 1. Hang up after getting busy signal. 2. Lift the handset again and Dial *66 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1166) You will get a recorded announcement stating you call will be next in line 3. Hang up. 4. When the number is free you will receive a distinctive ring. Lift handset and the call will go through automatically. 5. To cancel dial *86 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1186) Customer Originated Trace will trace harassing calls for release to a law enforcement agency. 1. Hang up from harassing call 2. Lift the handset 3. Dial *57 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1157) You will hear a recording giving instructions on how to complete the trace. 4. Call the phone company for further instructions. Selective Call Acceptance allows you to program a list of numbers you want to receive calls from. All others will be sent to a recording stating that the call has been denied. 1. Lift handset 2. Dial *64 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1164) You will hear a recording giving instructions on how to activate the feature and how to add or delete numbers from your acceptance list. Selective Call Forwarding lets you select a list of incoming calling numbers which will be forwarded to you when you are away. 1. Lift the handset 2. Dial *63 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1163) You will hear a recording giving instructions on how to activate the feature and how to add or delete numbers from you forwarding list. Selective Call Rejection lets you define a list of numbers you do not want to receive calls from. 1. Lift the handset 2. Dial *60 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1160) You will hear a recording giving instructions on how to activate the feature and how to add or delete numbers from your rejection list. Custom Ringing / Call Waiting lets you define a list of priority numbers. When a call comes from any of those numbers on the list, you will hear a special ring or if you are on the phone, a special Call Waiting tone. 1. Lift the handset 2. Dial *61 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1161) You will hear a recording giving instructions on how to activate the feature and how to add or delete numbers from your priority list. |
